A Mother’s Thoughts on Born In China

My grandmother Flossie (yup, that was her real name) lived in Small Town, USA. Our visits out to her house put our imaginations to the test as there wasn’t a ton to do. We drew faces on clothespins, played Yahtzee, and toured the yarn store.

With limited entertainment offerings, my sister and I were thrilled when our dad offered to take us to the movies. We saw a documentary on bears, and I was officially hooked on nature documentaries.  Disneynature keeps my fascination alive with their gorgeous glimpses into the world of animals. The upcoming cinematic release, Born in China, takes viewers into the wilds of China in the latest true life adventure film.

Beauty and the Beast Exclusive Sneak Peek at Disneyland + Coloring Pages

True as it can be, it’s almost March 17th. I am so darn excited about seeing Beauty and the Beast I can’t even handle it. Belle was my favorite favorite favorite princess growing up (Snow White is my favorite favorite, but not favorite favorite favorite).  Her dreams of the great wide somewhere; her nose stuck in a book; her hatred for the boorish, the brainless Gaston.  She pretty much rules.

Add in Emma Watson playing the lead role, and I can’t even. That’s why I’m so delighted to share some special Beauty and the Beast themed fun with you.

Moana Candy Lei

Aloha!  We are counting down the days until Disney’s Moana sails into theaters.  Our favorite way to see movies together as a family is to go to our almost local drive-in.  It’s about 45 minutes away, but seriously fun so we don’t mind the drive.

To make our upcoming viewing of Moana even more fun, we’ve made candy leis.  What’s a movie without candy, right?  Considering we’ve got buckets of leftover Halloween candy at home, it didn’t cost us anything to make these fun Moana inspired treats.

The Nightmare Before Christmas in Regal Theaters

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene.  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and each day we’ve been doing something Halloween-y as a family.  From watching Halloween movies to making a gingerbread haunted house, each day holds something spooktacular.

But this weekend, there’s an extra special Halloween celebration as Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas returns for a limited engagement at Regal Theaters.

Disney’s Moana Activity Pages

There’s so much to look forward to in the coming months. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday. I love them all. But something else is sailing our way, Disney’s Moana.

The upcoming release from Disney Animation tells the story of adventurous 16-year-old Moana (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) who must fulfill an ancient quest and save her people, who have been forbidden to go beyond the safety of their island’s reef. Paired with the once mighty demi-god Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson), Moana sails through an ocean of adventure.
