From sweet treats to spectacular entertainment, there are a million reasons to be merry at Knott’s.

We can’t wait to attend the opening night of Knott’s Berry Farm’s holiday season, Merry Farm. The Orange County theme park recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, meaning it’s been the backdrop for family memories for a century. For us personally, visiting Merry Farm just makes it feel like Christmas.

Snoopy’s Night Before Christmas: Ice Show

The coolest thing you’ll see this season? Snoopy’s Night Before Christmas: Ice Show. The Walter Knott Theater hosts the ice skating show filled with stellar skating, aerial acrobats, modern dancing, and charming storytelling. This is a MUST during your Merry Farm visit. The ice show is offered select days, so check the Merry Farm app for the most up-to-date info.

Berry Blogger Tip: Plan on arriving at the theater 30 minutes before showtime as this is a popular attraction.

The live entertainment offered throughout Merry Farm captures the spirit of the season. Consider these additional opportunities for delightful entertainment.

• Home for the Holidays Another must-see during your visit is the Home for the Holidays show on the Calico Mine Stage. The set is all dolled up for a old-fashioned winter wonderland with a festive soundtrack filled with holiday favorites.
• NEW! A Calico Christmas Carol/The Gift of the Magic 1885 The Bird Cage Theatre brings to life two tales filled with drama, cheer, and lively song including the new Knott’s themed melodrama presenting a reimagined Charles Dickens classic.

• Calico Carolers Be transported to simpler times with the sounds of the Calico Carolers, a Victortian Christmas quartet in Ghost Town.
• The Sleigh Bells Sleigh the season in Calico Park where the acapella group performs.
• Bluegrass Duo Toes tappin’ and merry makin’ at Fireman’s BBQ with the bluegrass hits.
• Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies The beloved Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies bring humor and fun with their down home dose of cheer.

Santa’s Christmas Cabin

Your sleigh in on the way to fun when you visit the Wilderness Dance Hall, transformed into Santa’s Christmas Cabin. Filled with the scents and tastes of the season, stroll through the cabin for merry fun. Grab holiday treats like milk & cookies, pastries, and hot chocolate.

You can also meet jolly old St. Nick! Santa is available for meet & greets. Photo packages are available (not included in FunPix packages) or use your own camera.

Snow and Glow

Let your hearts be light during the Snow and Glow experience. Every night at sunset, the streets of Calico turn into a wonderful when the building and pathways dance with lights set to holiday music. Then, the most magical snow falls throughout Calico streets. The show lasts about 5 minutes, but the memories are endless.

Christmas Crafts Village

It’s like Etsy IRL. Visit the Christmas Crafts Village for dozens of local artisans selling unique gifts for the holiday season. Personalized ornaments, accessories, and home decor are just some offerings.

Merry Farm Tickets

Enjoy Knott’s Merry Farm November 17 through January 7, 2024. The festive overlay is included in your general park admission or Season Pass. Get your tickets and more information at Knotts.com.

Children from around Orange County gathered in Calico Town Square.  There were carolers from the Little Chapel Bell Choir leading the crowd in song with holiday musical selections.  The merriment continued with a dance performance around the tree.  The fun continued with special appearances by members of the PEANUTS Gang.  Snoopy also welcomed an extra special guest who arrived by train, none other than Santa Claus himself.

Santa brought a special gift for two young children, a golden glowing ornament that lit the tree during the special kick-off to the Season of Fun.

The crowd gleefully cheered as snow fell upon them at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Knott’s Merry Farm is officially open for the holiday season, now through January 6, 2019.  It’s a truly charming time to enjoy the park.  My family has several visits planned for the holidays, and I can’t wait to share more merriment with you.

Merry Farm Highlights

One of the many reasons we as a family love Knott’s Merry Farm is the balance between holiday traditions and new experiences.

• Snoopy Ice Show: Merry Christmas, Snoopy is back with ice dancers take the stage (in this case the ice).
• Holiday classics A Christmas Carol/The Gift of the Magi can be enjoyed at the Bird Cage Theatre.
• Little ones will love A Peanuts Guide to Christmas in Camp Snoopy.
• The PEANUTS Gang is putting on the best Christmas pageant ever and you’re invited.  Check out It’s The Merriest Christmas Show Ever, Charlie Brown.
• Bringing extra sparkle to the park, the Snow and Glow Show in Ghost Town  bring snow to Southern California.

The year a new merchandise item, blinking lanterns are available. The lights are synchronized to the show to add even more wonder.

• Shop till you drop at Christmas Crafts Village.  Charming vendors fill Calico streets with holiday gifts galore.
• Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen lets your little bakers help out decorating cookies for around $5.

Themed Food –

Knott’s Berry Farm continues to expand its seasonal offerings during the Seasons of Fun.  Grab a slice of Holiday Turkey Pizza or Holiday Elote. It’s not the holidays without treats, and Knott’s has you covered.   The Pumpkin Pie Milkshake is divine, but there’s something for every sweet tooth!
