6 Best Character Changes In Beauty and the Beast

I so desperately wanted to love it.  Everything I had seen leading up to Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast was so charming, so perfect.  I went in to the movie with such high expectations and an anxious heart.  I loved it more than I thought I could.

I’m sharing all the best changes, focusing on character development, to the original animated film.  There are some moderate spoilers, just so you know.

Beauty and the Beast Activity Sheets

Don’t you see? She’s the one. The girl we have been waiting for. She has come to break the spell.

You guys. Today’s the day!  Beauty and the Beast is now playing in theaters and my heart can barely handle it.  Never before has my geek heart had both Disney and Harry Potter fluttering inside it.  To celebrate, I’m sharing super fun Beauty and the Beast activity pages for you the kids.

DIY Trolls Pinata

Recently, we threw my 3-year-old a Troll-tastic birthday party, full of lots of DIY fun.  One of my favorite birthday party projects is making custom piñatas. They’re easy to put together using recycled materials.  Plus, using leftover packing supplies means they’re inexpensive too!

Find out how to make a DIY Trolls piñata!

Bringing Toddlers to Great Wolf Lodge

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Southern California’s very own Great Wolf Lodge, an indoor water park and resort that brings a wave of fun for any family.  We had the pleasure of visiting for my daughter’s birthday a few months back, and brought the whole family…our toddler included.

Is Great Wolf Lodge fun for toddlers? Read on to find out!

Strollers at Disneyland

Just like their mother before them, my little ones are growing up Disney.  From a house full of magical mementos to Disney days, my husband and I began their indoctrination into the Disney-loving world almost immediately.

With little ones in tow most of the time, there are certain necessities for our trips to Disneyland.  One of those is a stroller.  Today I’m sharing all you need to know about strollers at the Disneyland Resort.

Beauty and the Beast Exclusive Sneak Peek at Disneyland + Coloring Pages

True as it can be, it’s almost March 17th. I am so darn excited about seeing Beauty and the Beast I can’t even handle it. Belle was my favorite favorite favorite princess growing up (Snow White is my favorite favorite, but not favorite favorite favorite).  Her dreams of the great wide somewhere; her nose stuck in a book; her hatred for the boorish, the brainless Gaston.  She pretty much rules.

Add in Emma Watson playing the lead role, and I can’t even. That’s why I’m so delighted to share some special Beauty and the Beast themed fun with you.

Walt’s Barn

This may be shocking news, but I’m kind of a big Disney fan. We’ve explored every inch of Disneyland, and been to Walt Disney World twice as a family. But there’s even more Disney history to explore right here in Southern California. Check out some of the fun at “The Birthplace of Imagineering,” Walt’s Barn.

Why I Brought My Children to the Women’s March

There are so many things I want to pass along to my children–a love for Harry Potter books, chocolate chip cookie baking hacks, and an understanding that they could make a difference in our world.  Over the weekend, my husband and I took our three children with us to participate in the Women’s March in Los Angeles.

Many shared why they marched on social media using the hashtag #whyImarch, but today I wanted to share why we brought children to the march.

Hot Chocolate Play Dough

Oh, the weather outside is frightful! It’s another cold and rainy day, but that doesn’t mean we are feeling dreary.  Days indoors with my kiddos have allowed me to make days at home feel special and fun.  Today we’re making Hot Chocolate Play Dough to keep little hands busy and minds creating.

Let Freedom Ring Bells l MLK Jr Craft

Coffee, coffee, and more coffee. It’s part of my breakfast of champions, or at least any day I actually want to function. With my love and dependence on coffee, I was so thrilled when I first grabbed a Keurig. Less waiting, more caffeinating.  But soon after, I started realizing how many of those cute little pods I was dumping to the, well, dump.  I started with swapping the pods out for a refillable k-cup like this one.  Currently I’m double brewing with a Keurig and a traditional coffee pot.

It’s a lot of coffee, you guys.

I still needed to do more to keep those pods out of the dump.  That’s when I started storing them to use for crafts, like these “Let Freedom Ring” bells.  They’re a snap to make and a great way to remember the message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
