Knott’s Berry Farm Marketplace Reopens

After closures due to COVID-19, the Knott’s Berry Farm California Marketplace is back! Keep reading for openings, safety precautions, and tips to make your experience the berry best.

As a Knott’s Anniversary Ambassador, I receive complimentary admission to the park. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My youngest daughter and I visited the California Marketplace for an afternoon out. I can’t tell you how great it felt to be back at Knott’s Berry Farm, shopping for our favorite boysenberries products and having lunch together.

Although the theme park is not yet open, it’s a great way to get your Knott’s fix!

With the openings just starting and the procedures being new, I wanted to make sure you had all of the information you need to make sure that your day is filled with fun, food, and fresh air.

Parking

The traditional entrance to Knott’s Berry Farm is currently closed to car traffic. Instead, enter the California Marketplace off of Crescent Avenue and look for attendants to direct you. Parking is free.

Handicapped and curbside parking is also available.

Rufus, the famous rooster who lives at Knott’s Berry Farm, might just greet you. Finding him is one of our favorite Knott’s traditions, so we were so pleased to see him welcoming us back.

Restrooms

All California arketplace public restrooms will be available. Look for these:

  • Within the Berry Market (the “Secret Bathroom” is worth a visit if you’ve never seen it.)
  • Within Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant
  • Next to Starbucks

Shopping at the Knott’s Berry Farm California Marketplace

Grab all of your favorite Knott’s food items from fudge to preserves. It’s asked that you handle only items you intend to purchase.

Many Boysenberry Festival items can be found at the Berry Market! There are boysenberry sodas, cookies, and new preserves. Another great new find is the Knott’s cookbook, filled with classic recipes.

When you are ready to pay, you’ll notice floor markers helping to keep distance while waiting in line. Associates stand behind plexiglass and can guide you as you self-scan your items. You also will notice bags so you can bag your own purchases. Guests are encouraged to use debit or card cards to make purchases. Cash trays will be used, so hand-to-hand contact is limited.

Tip: Don’t forget your annual pass to take advantage of annual passholder discounts.

Chicken-To-Go adds In-App Ordering

Chicken-To-Go previously reopened for guests and continues to be a popular spot for Knott’s fans. With the main thorough-fare blocked off, Knott’s has added picnic table seating to enjoy Mrs. Knott’s famous fried chicken. Tables are generously spaced apart.

TIP: If you’re shopping in the Marketplace and want to save some time, use the Knott’s Berry Farm app to order your chicken online!

Stop by the bakery next door for a Snoopy cookie, cupcake, or other baked treat. I use the bakery for our birthday parties and other celebrations, and have been so pleased.

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant Open

An exciting return is Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. We stopped in for lunch for what Poppy calls the best macaroni and cheese on the planet.

Patio seating will be filled first, with limited capacity seating indoors. Use OpenTable to secure your spot!

Some of the elements in place are the use of a QR code to be scanned by guests to access the full menu. Condiments were presented in single-use containers, too.

Health & Safety Guidelines

For Guests:

  • Facial coverings are required when visiting the Marketplace.
  • Social distancing markers have been installed on the floors. They mark direction of travel, also. Knott’s Berry Farm associates also cue guests outside to help minimize crowding inside stores.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout Marketplace locations.
  • Frequently touched surfaces like counters, scanners, store fixtures, etc. are disinfected daily and sanitized frequently.
  • Outdoor seating is spaced out and restaurants are also spaced.

For Associates:

  • All associates are screened including temperature and symptom checks using CDC guidelines before being allowed on property to work.
  • Associates have been trained on the importance of handwashing, physical distancing and overall hygiene
  • Separate entrances and exits will appear at some store locations.

As CDC guidelines evolve, the Knott’s Berry Farm Marketplace practices may change. Make sure to go to Knotts.com for full hours and operation procedures.

With the California Marketplace reopening at Knott’s Berry Farm, I’m ready to continue shopping and snacking on all my Knott’s favorites. What are you most looking forward to? Share them in the comments!
