Knott’s Berry Farm to Reopen May 21

This is KNOTT a drill! Knott’s Berry Farm has announced its reopening date. Knott’s will reopen with a grand reopening on May 21, 2021.

As a Knott’s Berry Farm Ambassador, my family and I received complimentary annual passes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It’s been a berry long year. At the end of February 2020, my sister’s family joined my own to celebrate our then almost 6-year-old. It rained intermittengly in the morning so we ducked into stores we don’t normally visit, spent a few more minutes looking at branding irons, and eventually made our way to the schoolhouse where Pig Pen came by to wish her a happy birthday. It was the last normal day at Knott’s Berry Farm we’d have that year.

Not long after, I had attended a Boyenberry Festival preview with other friends of the farm. We sampled treats and eats. We marveled over the super cute merch. And while there were rumblings of Covid-19, it didn’t yet seem to be a problem in California.

And then the world shut down.

With theme parks shuttered for more than a year now, it seems almost nostalgic to be writing with theme park updates. Let me tell you, it brings me incredible joy to share the following updates with you.

Knott’s Berry Farm Set to Reopen May 21, 2021

California theme parks have been given the green light to start their reopening. Knott’s Berry Farm will open its gates May 21, 2021.

The previously scheduled Taste of Boysenberry Festival will run as planned and end May 2, 2021. Want the scoop on visiting with kids? Read the article here.

Soft Opening for Annual Passholders

The theme park reopening plans include an early return to the farm, beginning May 6th, exclusively for annual passholders. Current passholders can reserve tickets beginning April 26th for this soft opening period at Knotts.com.

While I adore other local theme parks and have considered many a time getting tattoos to commemorate them, it’s moves like this that make so incredibly proud to be a Knott’s passholder. It shows a commitment to the loyal community and dedicated fans of the farm. This is especially true when you consider passholders already paid for admission so the theme park isn’t going to be bringing in income from ticket sales. Don’t you fret, Knott’s. I’ve got a year’s worth of boysenberry jelly beans I need to stock back up on.

Ticket Sales for Non Passholders

The grand reopening of Knott’s Berry Farm is scheduled for May 21, 2021. As Knott’s is following state, county, and local health guidelines, the ticket sales will be limited to California residents. Reservations will be required and capacity will be limited.

While we navigate this exciting announcement, I know that questions will arise. Feel free to share those in the comments, and I’ll do my best to get you the official word from our friends at Knott’s.

One of the most common questions: will there be rides? YES!

There will be rides, including an all-new one!

Knott’s Berry Farm to Reopen with New Attraction — Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair

When the park opens, guests will be able to enjoy their favorite thrilling attractions. In addition, guests will be able to take their first spin on Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair.

Riders find themselves equipped with boysenberry jar shaped jelly blasters as they race and spin through a 3D interactive dark ride. Based off the 1970’s attraction, this reimagining includes the latest in virtual reality gaming. Shoot the pesky coyotes who are attempting to steal all the pies for themselves.

For long-time fans of the park, they’ll recognize scenes and characters from the original (which was replaced by Kingdom of the Dinosaurs and later Iron Reef). However, there’s something new around every spin, making it a must visit attraction when returning to the fair farm.

The new attraction is just one exciting element coming this summer! You won’ want to miss the all new, summer-long Knott’s 100th Anniversary Celebration — The Knott’s Family Reunion.

Knott’s 100th Anniversary Celebration

Originally slated for the 2020 season, Knott’s is kicking off its 100th anniverary celebration with an epic summer event. The “Knott’s Family Reunion” will reunite all family and friends after the park’s year-long closure.

New and unforgettable experiences await in honor of the park’s 100 years of history and family fun for all. During the 100th anniversary celebration, guests can experience the brand-new Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair, a 4-D interactive dark ride that pays tribute to the classic attraction from 35 years ago. Guests also will have the opportunity to meet Knott’s all-new lovable costumed characters and enjoy special evening entertainment as Knott’s Summer Nights returns with live music, DJs and one-of-a-kind food and drink specialties. In addition, the theme park is planning a nightly ceremony featuring multiple attractions lighting up the evening and culminating in a special moment with the redesigned illuminated K-tower. Guests also will find festive new park décor, including special photo settings that pay homage to favorite attractions from the past and commemorative merchandise celebrating the park’s vast history. These are just a few of the many special surprises that can only come from your friends at Knott’s.

For a peek at what the 100th anniversary celebration may be like, I encourage you to visit a past celebration, Knott’s Summer Nights.
