My family and I were invited to a special holiday event at our local Bricks & Minifigs location.  We had actually visited the store in the past with our daughters, so they were stoked to be included in the fun in-store event.  Bricks & Minifigs specializes in new and used LEGO products, with a great mix of the kits you’ve had your eye on plus some hard-to-find pieces.

My kids, especially my preschooler, love that you can build in the store.  There are also tons of display cases filled with their favorite characters.  All the Harry Potter figures need to magically appear at my house!

All of the kids got to build LEGO Creator Jolly Santa figures to kick off the holiday season.  They already have tons of LEGO sets on their holiday wishlists (the Hogwarts Great Hall for Georgia, Disney Princess castles for Harper, and Unikitty for Poppy).  There are tons of new kits in store, at competitive prices.  There are also used sets available.  My first time in the store I wondered why someone would buy a set that had already been built.  But the super helpful staff and I chatted about being able to guarantee that the sets were complete.

It’s the kind of store that is hands-on, especially for kids.  Being able to get your hands dirty (get your hands plastic-y) in building is part of the fun.

After building their own Santas, all of the kids were in for some extra fun.  Brettso the Great was on-hand to do a special magic presentation for the kids!  Making wands turn into flowers, multiplying smiling balls, and making blocks disappear was seriously right up Poppy’s alley.  Brettso the Great is a local area magician, and would be so fun for a kids’ party.  I asked after his show what age was best for a magician, and he recommended around 5.  That makes sense since my 4-year-old was giggling the whole time.

Look at Poppy in the bottom right.  Her leg out and covered face crack me up.  She loved the show, and being picked to participate was so much fun.

He also built some rad balloon animals for the kids.  The Mickey made my Disney-loving heart so happy!

What’s on your kids’ holiday wishlist?   If you’re looking for new, used, rare, or hard-to-find LEGO products, visit Bricks & Minifigs.

You can build up the fun by checking out their website or follow along on social media.  To check out more of the event’s fun, check out the hashtag #MinifigsandMagic.

  • I think my daughter and I are going to have to take a look at the Fullerton store. She loves building Legos and asks for a new set or two every Christmas. She would absolutely love a place like this. I didn’t even know they had such a thing.
