It’s not a Disney day without a churro. According to Pop Sugar, 2.8 million churros are sold annually at the resort. With all of use drooling over the cinnamon sticks of magic, it’s no suprise the flavors are popping up in other forms. At Trolley Treats Candy Shop in Disney California Adventure, guests can enjoy a twist on the classic churro: Churro Toffee.

The oversized square of toffee is covered in white chocolate and cinnamon. It’s a glorious blend of buttery, crunchy toffee and cinnamon sweetness. It’s a newer Disney treat, and one that you 100% will fall in love with.

The treats are also sold in the Downtown Disney District at Marceline’s Confectionary. I snapped this photo of the delightful treat.

It’s worth every penny, of course, but I’m saving my pressed pennies for Disneyland tickets so I am so happy that the white chocolate and cinnamon-covered toffee can be made at home.

Check out this recipe to make your own Disneyland copycat recipe for Churro Toffee.

Disneyland Copycat Recipe: Churro Toffee

The Basics

Serving: 12 pieces
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Resting time: 60 minutes
Total time: 1 hour and 10 minutes

Ingredients

For Toffee:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 package Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers

For Toffee Coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  • Put parchment paper in a large baking pan.
  • Add butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the butter is melted.
  • Allow the mixture to come to a boil and continue to cook until the mixture becomes a dark golden color.
  • Continue to stir occasionally until the temperature reaches 285 degrees.
  • As soon as toffee reaches temperature, pour it into the prepared baking sheet.

Baking Tip: At this point, you can leave whole. However, it will be easier for you to cut before it cools down. Cut when warm, going over your lines 4-5 times.

  • Let set for 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Melt the wafers according to package directions and cover all the squares.
  • Then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture and set for another 40 minutes.

If you did not cut it at the beginning, break toffee into pieces.

I could skip the Instant Pot. I could ditch the fancy blender. But don’t take away my ice cream machine.

Dessert is a big deal around here. Dessert is the only thing that stands between me and veganism. It’s my favorite meal of the day, and I spend a lot of time baking treats, dreaming of sweets, and finding the best spots in town.

Looking for the Best Ice Cream in Anaheim? Head HERE.

So when a friend offered this recipe to share with you, I know you and I both needed it!!

Ben & Jerry’s are known for pretty spectacular flavors. You can definitely attack a pint and end up lost in a world of creamy heaven. The best news: you can make your own copycat verson of the iconic chocolate flavor at home!

Ben & Jerry’s Copycat Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions:

  1. In a double bowler, melt chocolate over hot water until smooth. Slowly add the milk, whisking to combine. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  2. Beat eggs with electric mixer until light and foamy, about 1 minute. Slowly add the sugar and continuing mixing until blended.
  3. Add cream, vanilla, and salt, blending until combined. Stir in the chocolate mixture to the cream mixture.
  4. Pour into ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions. In the Cuisinart Ice Cream 2 quart machine, this takes approximately 30 minutes to freeze into soft serve.
  5. For firmer ice cream, transfer ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 4 to 6 hours.

Make 1 quart liquid and about 1 ½ quart frozen.

Homemade ice cream is so much easier than you may think! If you can’t get yourself a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, try this recipe for a homemade copycat version.

Do you love The Nightmare Before Christmas as much as our family? The holiday classic brings the perfect amount of scary to our Disney recipe collections. Combining both Oogie Boogie and Minnie Mouse, these cupcakes are a fun addition to a Halloween party or movie night!

All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It’s Oogie’s turn to Boogie now!

Oogie Boogie, the bug-filled gambler, in Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas took over the decor at Disney California Adventure Park. His burlap face rests atop the park’s entrance, and he’s throwing quite the Halloween party.

If you’re looking to bring a little fun home, try these Oogie Boogie Cupcakes, decked out with a little extra Disney magic in the form of Minnie Mouse ears and bow.

Minnie Mouse Oogie Boogie Cupcakes

These cupcakes can be made with three steps:

  • make fondant decorations
  • make cupcakes
  • make frosting

If you’re short on time, a boxed cake mix can be a big time savings. The recipe I’m sharing today fancies up a cake mix. If your friends or family judge you, make sure to spin Oogie Boogie’s roulette wheel of torture to find a suitable punishment!

Mom truth bomb: I’ve even purchased cupcakes from my local grocery store bakery and added my own decorations when in a pinch.

If you’re new to fondant, this would be a great way to test it out! You’ll be rolling out pre-made fondant and cutting circles. Using edible markers, you’ll draw Oogie Boogie on your circles. Not so sure of your artistic abilities? Print and cut out a picture of Oogie to use as a stencil.

Fondant Ears

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 1 container of neon green fondant
  • 1 container of purple fondant
  • 1 container of black fondant
  • 1 4-inch round fondant cutter
  • 1 black edible marker
  • 1 silver edible marker
  • 1 small cutting board
  • 1 fondant roller
  • 1 C powder sugar
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • 1 Wilton bow fondant mold

Directions.

  • Sprinkle powder sugar onto cutting board and spread around.
  • Remove neon green fondant from container and place onto cutting board
  • Coat fondant with powder sugar and roll out onto the cutting board into a flat 1/2 inch disk.
  • Using the 4-inch round cutter, cut out 24 circles. Put aside on cookie sheet
  • Using the purple fondant pinch off about 1 tbsp of fondant and place it into the large bow mold. Lightly use your finger to mold into the bow. Pop the bow out and place onto the cookie sheet.
  • Using the black fondant and smaller bow mold, mold the black fondant into the bow and pop it out. Place onto the cookie sheet.
  • Using the silver marker, dot on polka dots onto the black bow
  • Next, fill a cup of water.
  • Using your finger, dip it into the water and run it along the back of the black bow. Place the black bow onto the middle of the purple bow
  • Using the black edible marker, draw out Oogie Boogie onto the neon green circles.
  • Allow to set for 30 minutes.

Zoomed in on the cupcakes a little more, you can see Oogie is drawn on the fondant circles. If you can use a Sharpie, you can do this!

Chocolate cupcakes

Makes 12 Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 box of triple chocolate mix cake mix
  • 3 large eggs room temp
  • 1/2 C of softened unsalted sweet cream butter
  • 1 C whole milk
  • Also needed: cupcake liners and cupcake pan

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line muffin pan with the white cupcake liners
  • In a medium bowl, add the cake mix, butter, milk, and stir until combined.
  • Scoop batter into the cupcake pans about 3/4 way full
  • Bake in the oven for about 18-20 minutes.
  • Pull out the cupcakes and allow to cool before frosting.

Vanilla Frosting

Ingredients

  • 2 C unsalted sweet cream butter, softened
  • 5 C powder sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 6-10 TBSP heavy whipping cream
  • Also needed: one large piping bag with large star tip

Directions

  • Using a stand mixer, combine all ingredients and mix on medium speed.
  • Mix until you see stiffed peaks in your frosting.
  • Scoop frosting into the piping bag
  • Frost cooled cupcakes
  • Place two circles on the sides for “Ears”
  • Place the bow in the middle of the cupcakes

Looking for an easy treat to help celebrate Independence Day? These Patriotic Marshmallow Pops are perfect for the 4th of July.

My family and I go through baking phases. Right now we are in a “cover everything in chocolate” phase…and we are not sorry. We made chocolate dipped pretzels and Oreos for my niece’s high school graduation party. They disappeared so quickly that we made them again for our family reunion the next week.

We’ll be celebrating the 4th of July in just a few days, and these Patriotic Marshmallow Pops are prefect for celebrating with children.

These simple 4th of July treats are super kid-friendly. Not only because the their adorable and festive, but because they are simple to make.

Marshmallow pops are a fun grab and go treat. To make them patriotic, these are covered in red, white, and blue chocolate and star sprinkles. Aren’t they so cute?!?

Ingredients

Regular or jumbo size marshmallows

Candy melt wafers in red and royal blue

Candy melts in white or vanilla-flavored almond bark

Patriotic sprinkles (like stars) in red, white, and blue

Instructions

  1. Press four marshmallows onto a straw or treat stick with a twisting motion. Lay on waxed paper.
  2. Melt the candy melts in the microwave according to package directions giving special care not to overheat the candy. If the candy is overheated, it will be too thick. You can add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help thin the chocolate but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.
  3. Transfer melted candy to a piping bag or zip-top freezer bag. Snip the corner of the bag and drizzle melted candy over the marshmallows. Allow each color to set before adding a new color.
  4. Repeat piping the candy melts over the marshmallows until all three colors are applied: red, blue, and white. Immediately after applying the last color (white is recommended) and before it sets, top with patriotic sprinkles.
  5. Allow the marshmallows to rest on waxed paper until set before packaging or serving.

Buzz, Woody, and the rest of Andy’s toys are back in a brand new adventure in Disney’s Toy Story 4. To celebrate the theatrical release, make Toy Story Oreos.

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my Disclosure Policy for more information.

These Toy Story Oreos feature three favorite characters from the Toy Story franchise: Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and the aliens. Yes, I’m counting the aliens at one. Plus, Bo Peep is back with a sassy look. We also meet a collection of new characters like Ducky and Bunny and a DIY art project turned toy named Forky.

When Bonnie takes the toys on her family’s road trip, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep, whose adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. Woody and Bo are worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, and they soon realize that’s the least of their worries.

Ingredients

For Woody:
1/3 (15.35 ounce) package Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
1/2 (12 ounce) package red candy melts wafers
1 (12 ounce) package yellow candy melts wafers

For Buzz Lightyear:
1/3 (15.35 ounce) package Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
1 (12 ounce) package white candy melts wafers
1/3 (12 ounce) package green candy melts wafers
1/3 (12 ounce) package purple candy melts wafers
2 tablespoons blue candy melts wafers

For Aliens:
1/3 (15.35 ounce) package Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
1 (12 ounce) package green candy melts wafers
Candy eyeballs

Instructions

For Woody:
1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
2. Melt yellow candy coating according to package directions. If the candy is too thick to pour, add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening. Stir well. Do not add water. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per bag of candy wafers.
3. Dip each cookie into melted candy. Remove cookie, tapping gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess candy to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, pop them with a toothpick. Place the cookie onto the waxed paper. Allow to set completely before proceeding to the next step. To speed the process, cookies can be refrigerated or placed in the freezer in a single layer.
4. Melt red candy coating according to package directions. Transfer melted candy to a piping bag or zip top freezer bag with the corner snipped. Create solid lines across each cookie in a perpendicular pattern.
5. Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

For Buzz Lightyear:
1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
2. Melt white candy coating according to package directions. If the candy is too thick to pour, add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening. Stir well. Do not add water. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per bag of candy wafers.
3. Dip each cookie into candy melts.
4. Melt green candy coating according to package directions. Dip each cookie into the melted candy about halfway. Return to wax paper and allow to set completely.
5. Melt purple candy coating according to package directions. Dip each cookie into the melted candy about halfway up the green area. Return to wax paper and allow to set completely.
6. Using a toothpick, apply a tiny amount of candy melts in three colors (green, blue, purple) to the cookie to represent Buzz’s buttons.
7. Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

For Aliens:
1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
2. Melt green candy coating according to package directions. If the candy is too thick to pour, add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening. Stir well. Do not add water. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per bag of candy wafers.
3. Dip each cookie into candy melts. Remove cookie, tapping gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess candy to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, pop them with a toothpick. Place the cookie onto the waxed paper.
4. Immediately press three eyes into place.
5. Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

7. Lightly dip one side of a treat into the melted candy. Allow to set before proceeding to the next step.

8. Melt red candy melts. Spoon over bottom half of treat allowing excess to drip back into bowl. Immediately press two nonpareils into place as buttons.

9. Allow to dry completely before packaging or storing.

There are lots of quotes by Walt Disney seared into my heart. One of my favorites that I have used in my home is part of the opening speech for Disneyland, “To all who come to this happy place, welcome!” I think it sets the mood for joy and festivity, two things I’m hoping for whenever we have guests.

Another favorite reminds me that huge accomplishments can come from the most meager of things.

“I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse.” – Walt Disney

What is it about the little mouse?

Is he the every man character…approachable and flawed, yet still charming?

Is it his friendly demeanor?

Maybe it’s his position as the spokesmouse for one of the world’s most trusted brands. Whatever the reason, I’m on board for all things M-I-C-K-E-Y!

If you adore Mickey Mouse as much as I do, these decorated cookies are just the thing. They are perfect for a Mickey Mouse birthday party. You can make them in advance and pack them for your next Disney trip as a special treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.35 ounce) package Double Stuf Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
  • 1 (12 ounce) package red candy melts wafers
  • 1 (12 ounce) package milk chocolate chips
  • 1 (6 ounce) package Oreo Thin Bites
  • White nonpareil sprinkles

Instructions

1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

2. Melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring vigorously after in 30-second increments, until smooth.

3. Dip each cookie into melted chocolate. Remove cookie, tapping gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess candy to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, pop them with a toothpick. Place the cookie onto the waxed paper.

4. Immediately press two Oreo Thin Bites cookie onto each dipped cookie to be the ears. Allow to set completely before proceeding to the next step. To speed the process, cookies can be refrigerated or placed in the freezer in a single layer.

5. Melt red candy coating according to package directions. If the candy is too thick to pour, add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening. Stir well. Do not add water. You can add up to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per bag of candy wafers.

6. Place the dipped cookie on a fork or spoon and pour red candy coating over the bottom half of the cookie.

7. Using a toothpick and/or sterilized tweezers, apply two white nonpareil sprinkles as the buttons.

8. Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Store in an airtight container as room temperature.

Aren’t they just the cutest?!?

I’m not sure why things taste better when Mickey-shaped, but they absolutely do!

Knott’s Berry Farm is celebrating its roots with the annual Boysenberry Festival. Bring home the flavors in an easy Boysenberry Shortcake recipe, featuring ingredients from the park.

With 75+ boysenberry-inspired dishes, it’s the berry best time to visit Knott’s. This year’s menu celebrates favorites from the past (hello, Boysenberry Elote) and introduced delicious dishes you’ve got to try! Check out the offerings in The New Boysenberry Menu .

The other Berry Bloggers and I were challenge to a super fun contest during the Boysenberry Festival. We were set free in marketplace to select 3-4 boysenberry ingredients to create new recipes.

Boysenberry Shortcake Recipe

Ingredients

  • Knott’s Berry Farm Biscuit Mix
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed
  • 15 oz. can Boysenberries in Light Syrup
  • 2 tbsp. Boysenberry Punch Concentrate

Directions

This recipe requires a little assembly, but not much in the way of cooking. Which is absolutely delightful if you ask me.

Start by preparing the Knott’s Berry Farm Biscuit Mix per package instructions. It’s so simple — combine biscuit mix and water in a bowl and mix with a fork. Bake on greased cookie sheet and let cool.

I made my biscuits slightly smaller than the containers I wanted to use for serving. The do expand slightly during baking.

While biscuits are baking, make boysenberry whipped cream. Mix Cool Whip with 1-2 tablespoons of boysenberry punch concentrate. This is the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. I ended up making more so that I could dip fruit in it.

Drain boysenberries.

Once biscuits are cool, layer biscuits, whipped cream, and boysenberries.

Originally I had planned on serving the boysenberry shortbread in mason jars. However, the size seemed excessive since it needed multiple biscuits and layer upon layer of whipped cream.

Instead, I opted to use vintage glass punch cups. It’s the perfect size for a brunch or tea party. If you are looking for a disposal option for a party, try these disposable punch bowl cups.

The recipe comes together in just minutes, and is perfectly sweet. It’s a lovely treat for your springtime celebrations, like the Boysenberry Festival. Whenever you visit Knott’s Berry Farm, check out Get Away Today for discount tickets.
