Last updated: January 19, 2022

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, is kicking off its PEANUTS Celebration January 22-March 6, 2022.  It’s filled with fun for the entire family, especially the younger members of your family.  Check out this guide to the PEANUTS Celebration with Preschoolers.

As a Knott’s Berry Blogger, I receive complementary admission to facilitate reviews.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Family fun is fresh at the farm!  The Charles M. Schulz cartoon strip PEANUTS takes center stage at Knott’s during the PEANUTS Celebration.  The event celebrates the beloved characters including Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang.  From themed photo elements to attraction overlays, it’s perfect for making memories!

With three children from tween to preschooler, it’s important for us as a family to find ways for everyone to have a great time.  Knott’s is perfect for the whole family with tons to see, do, and let’s not forget eat!

This guide is all about making the most of your day at Knott’s Berry Farm with your preschooler.

Preschooler’s Guide to Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration

Camp Snoopy

The Camp Snoopy area of Knott’s is perfect for families with children 12 and under.  The wooded area honors California’s high sierras with large trees shading age appropriate thrill rides.  The six acres include both rides, games, and play areas.

Year round, Camp Snoopy is a fun way for preschoolers to enjoy the park as they spin and whirl on Rapid River Run, reach new heights on Woodstock’s Airmail, or get a thrill on Timberline Twister.

During PEANUTS Celebration, new elements have been added to Camp Snoopy.

  • Beagle Bonanza During the celebration, the Grand Sierra Railroad — the kid-sized train — takes families for a ride to the Beagle Bonanza.  As you chug along and around Reflection Lake, you’ll see your favorite characters on their way to the fun.

While in Camp Snoopy, be on the lookout for colorful backdrops perfect for snapping photos of your little one.

It’s a game available year round, but the Woodstock’s Birdbath is a great one for preschoolers.  It’s a guaranteed winner, with tiered stuffed animals as prizes.

Character Meet & Greets

Nestled between the Camp Snoopy Theater and the airplane ride, Flying Ace, you’ll find a meet and greet area for the PEANUTS Gang.  Say hi to Snoopy, get advice from Lucy, or snuggle Franklin.   During the PEANUTS Celebration, the character presences is even greater.

You’ll find the characters out in great rotation, and also in unique interactions outside of Camp Snoopy.

Pig Pen was introduced to the park in 2018..  He can be found at Livery Stable, dubbed Pig Pen’s Pig Pen during the celebration.  An extra adorable added element is the baby piglets that reside in the stable for viewing.  We then got to visit with Snoopy’s brother, Spike.

New for 2022, Charlie Brown is welcoming Marcie to the Farm!  Yes, sir!

Be on the lookout as your tour the park for unique ways to engage with characters.

Photo Opportunities

One of the most fun elements of the PEANUTS Celebration is the chance to step into a comic strip.  Upon entering Knott’s, you’ll be greeted with numerous immersive photo spots.  Plus, Snoopy and Woodstock are often in front of the large seasonally wrapped windmill for additional snuggles.

Throughout Camp Snoopy, you’ll also find speech bubbles adhered to light posts which make for comical photos.

Snap photos with other decor items like pretending to catch a runaway kite stuck in the trees throughout the park or holding onto the balloons around the fountain.

Sketch School

One of my family’s absolute favorite elements of the PEANUTS Celebration is the PEANUTS Sketch School in the Bird Cage Theater.  Throughout the day, animation classes are held to teach guests how to draw their favorite PEANUTS characters. My husband filmed the fun here.

Little ones can grab a spot on the rug on stage for an up close and personal lesson.  There’s also room at the end of the stage for those who might like a little more room.

Her face cracks me up!  She could not have been more excited to learn how to draw the characters!

After the lesson, guests can take turns and photos sitting at the animator’s desk.

If your preschool is a little too young to follow along, request a coloring sheet instead for an engaging, indoor activity.

Spike’s Silent Disco

If your little one likes to bust a move, head over to Fiesta Village for the silent disco in the evenings (5 PM to closing).  The free experience allows dancers to use a set of headphones set to their own music track.

It’s absolutely hilarious to see a crowd of people grooving to their own jams, without having any idea what they’re listening to.  Plus, there are three different tracks so the person next to you may be listening to something different.

Musical Shows

The PEANUTS Gang bring the rock to the farm during the celebration.  Our favorite is Woodstock’s Music Festival featuring Jelly of the Month Club.  Think kid-friendly rock songs that are silly and super fun.  It’s a nighttime perfomance with two showings.  The later is often less crowded.

Don’t tell the kids but the Jelly of the Month Club band has connections to a pretty stellar rock lineage including Sublime, The Ziggens, and Fishbone.

During the day, the Calico Mine Stage features  It’s Your Life, Charlie Brown. During the day, Charlie Brown gets the shock of his life on the game show “It’s Your Life!” There will be music, fun and surprise guests, including the world’s most famous beagle, Snoopy!

Themed Treats

The PEANUTS Celebration wouldn’t be complete with themed treats, perfect for sharing with your preschooler.  Linus’s Blondies, Peanut Butter Macarons, and Lucy’s Kit Kat Fingers Funnel Cake  are just some of the yummiest limited time offerings.

Check out some of the yummiest foods!

The PEANUTS Celebration is celebrated daily January 22nd through March 6th.  It’s a perfect time for your preschooler to play and engage with Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and all the rest of the gang!  If you’re looking for preschooler fun all year round, the annual pass is the way to go!  Get more info on a whole year of fun at Knott’s Berry Farm.
