How to Host a Perfect Stuffed Animal Picnic

Fruit, fuzzy friends, and fun go perfectly together in a picnic set for all your stuffed animals. Gather your plush and celebrate with a Stuffed Animal Picnic.

My daughter has a collection of stuffed animals, each as beloved as the next. Some commemorate special vacations or celebrations. Some were passed on to her like cherished family heirlooms. Others just showed up one day, and we’re unsure of their origins.
To make the day feel a little special for her stuffies, we threw them a Stuffed Animal Picnic. Charlie Brown is a favorite, so he was given the spot of honor on this particular picnic.

How to Throw the Perfect Stuffed Animal Picnic

Invite the Beary Special Guests

Teddy bears, dolls, and stuffed animals all make for the greatest picnic guests. Whether you invite the whole gang or just a cuddly friend or two, you’re guaranteed a delightful soiree. If inviting additional friends, ask each guest to bring a beloved stuffed animal attendee.

Set the Scene for Fun

We grabbed a blanket as the setting for fun. Extra pillows are wonderful, too, if you’re looking for some comfy ways to add a little texture. You can lead your way to the celebration by making designs like paw prints using a stencil and flour on the sidewalk.
We had some faux grape vines on hand from a baby shower that made the day feel a little extra special. Pack up the fun in a cute picnic basket. Depending on the guests, you may opt for disposable plates and silverware. Berry baskets like these an adorable way to serve picnic treats, too.

Picnic Playtime Ideas

Games, crafts, and activities add a little something special to the celebration. We enjoyed an afternoon of reading stories to the toys and also playing Hide and Seek (I joined the stuffed animal’s team to assist with the hiding). Other fun to consider:
  • Draw or color pictures of your favorite stuffed animals
  • Have a dance party with your stuffed animals
  • Use fabric markers to decorate bear-sized t-shirts

Set the Menu

The company is important, as is the menu. So we wanted to make sure to have options for everyone at the celebration. We served stuffed animals fake food to make sure they celebrated. We opted for tea sandwiches and fruit for the non-stuffed invitees. We’ve been placing an ever increasing focus on the foods we eat. While my black thumbs prevent me from growing more of my own food, I do want to ensure the foods I present my guests and my family are healthy and clean. I was sent Arm & Hammer Fruit and Vegetable Wash to review, and was thrilled to elevate my picnic prep from a water wash to something that would better eliminate pesticides, wax, and soil.

Arm & Hammer Fruit and Vegetable Wash

The Arm & Hammer Fruit and Vegetable Wash is the first food-contact product to earn the Safer Choice certification!

The certification helps identify products that are safer for families and the environment. Products that qualify must prove that they are not only effective, but use safer ingredients that are safer.
Why should you wash your fruits and veggies? Let’s talk about the family favorite–the apple. I would absolutely prefer that my children pick up a red, shiny apple. However, have you ever considered why your apples are shiny? They do have a natural wax, but that crystal shine?? It’s synthetic. Apples are covered in an artificial wax to seal in the goodness and make them last longer.
Eliminating the fake wax is easy but a rinse under the tap won’t cut it. I found the spray easy to use and totally tasteless. Bonus points for my picky eaters not knowing the difference!
Snacks, stuffed animals, and smiles are what is planned for our picnic. Soil, wax, and pesticides are definitely not invited! With snacks and big smiles, we were able to enjoy a picnic with our beloved guests of honor.

Clean snacks and stuffed friends are a must for our Stuffed Animal Picnic. What do you bring to your picnics?
